Mohamed Salah – Liverpool FC (England)
August 9, 14 – Premier League, UEFA Super Cup – Egypt’s star Mohamed Salah played the full 90 minutes and scored as Liverpool beat Norwich City in the Premier League opener. The Reds also beat rivals Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup final on penalties after a 2-2 draw after extra time.
Ahmed Hegazi – West Brom (England)
August 10, 13 – Championship, League Cup – Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi has continued his absence from the West Brom squad through injury as the Baggies faced Millwall twice within a span of three days. They first played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship, before Millwall managed to win 2-1 in the League Cup at the Hawthorns.
August 10, 13 – Championship, League Cup – Team captain Sam Morsy missed has also missed his side’s two games in the Championship and the League Cup through an injury. The Latics lost the two games against Preston and Stoke City respectively as they currently sit 16th in the Championship table. They will host Leeds United on Saturday, August 17.
August 11 – Premier League – Mohamed Elneny was left out of Arsenal’s squad which defeated Newcastle in their Premier League opener. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 58th-minute strike was enough to secure the full three points for the Gunners away from home. Arsenal’s next game will be against Burnley on Saturday, August 17 at 13:30 CLT.
Mahmoud Kahraba – C.D. Aves (Portugal)
August 11 – Primeira Liga – Mahmoud Kahraba was left out of CD Aves’ squad that suffered a 1-2 defeat to Boavista F.C. in the Primeira Liga opener. Kahraba is yet to receive his international clearance, which forced the Portuguese club to launch a complaint against Zamalek and the EFA. Aves will host C.S. Marítimo on Sunday, and Kahraba’s availability for the game is yet to be known.
Ahmed Hassan Kouka – Sporting Braga (Portugal)
August 11 – Primeira Liga – Egypt international Ahmed Hassan Kouka has opened his Primeira Liga campaign with a goal against Moreirense. Team captain Fransérgio broke the deadlock just seconds before the half-time whistle and in the 64th minute, Kouka made it 2-0 after a defensive howler from Steven Vitoria, before Wilson Eduardo secured the victory with a 77th-minute strike. The visitors pulled one back through Nene in the 89th minute through Nene, but it was too late for them as the game ended 3-1.
Braga also played Brøndby in the second-leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, which they won 7-3 on aggregate, with Kouka being left on the bench in the return-leg.
