Al Masry head coach Ihab Galal revealed that his side’s negotiations with Zamalek to sign winger Mahmoud Abdelrazek Shikabala is going nowhere.

Shikabala is currently plying his trade at Greek side Apollon Smyrnis on loan from Zamalek, and has revealed earlier that he doesn’t want to return to his parent club.

Late last year, Ittihad of Alexandria’s director of football Walid Salah El-dien, said that his side convinced the player to move to their club in the January transfer window. At the same time, a Morrocan report claimed that Moroccan outlet Almountakhab are interested in signing the player.

Al Masry manager Ihab Galal said that his side is aiming to acquire the services of Shikabala but admitted that their negotiations with Zamalek are not going well.

“Zamalek’s officials are asking for a price that we cannot afford,” Galal told ON Sport TV channel. “Because of that, the deal is closer to falling through. I will inform the administration that I refuse to finalize the deal with the price Zamalek asked for.”

Since moving to Greece, Shikabala, who is now 32 years old, has scored once and provided one assist in 11 games across all competitions as his side currently sit bottom of the league with only six points. The team lost 11 games, drew in three and claimed one victory.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
