Goalkeeper Mahmoud Gad has officially joined Egyptian Premier League side Al Masry despite Wigan move rumours.
The 2021/22 season was a very rough one for Al Masry fans as they finished 13th on the Egyptian Premier League table.
As a result, the team is currently being reconstructed, starting with the head coach as Hossam Hassan was dismissed and Ehab Galal took charge.
Moreover, the club has made a number of strong signings, including Egyptian international Marwan Hamdi, ES Setif midfielder Abderrahim Deghmoum, and Wydad centre-back Imadeddine Boubekeur.
Al Masry didn’t stop there as they made it clear that they aim for a top four spot next season, they now announced the signing of uprising star Mahmoud Gad from ENPPI.
Gad is a young talented goalkeeper who is showing great potential at a young age, his impressive performances have earned him national team call-ups on multiple occasions.
He was also the subject of interest from Championship outfit Wigan Athletic over a possible move this summer, but negotiations broke down.
The player will now take on a new adventure with the Green Eagles as he put pen to paper on a four-year contract that starts by the start of the upcoming EPL season.
