Trezeguet scores as Boluspor eliminate Kasimpasa from Turkish Cup

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet scored Kasimpasa’s only goal in their 4-1 defeat to Boluspor in the round of 32 of the Turkish Cup on Tuesday.

Trezeguet’s side were knocked out of the Turkish Cup after losing 7-2 on aggregate as Boluspor managed to beat Kasimpasa 3-1 in the first leg late in November.

Kasimpasa had a strong start to the second leg as the 23-year-old Egypt international headed the opening goal 24 minutes after kick off. Trezguet, who made way for Hakan Demir 20 minutes from time, has five goals and four assists in 14 appearances so far with the Turkish side.

However, six minutes prior to the half time whistle, Melih Okutan equalised with a beautiful shot from the edge of the box. Okutan completed his brace quickly and gave the home side the lead with a calm finish after going one-on-one with the keeper.

Sixty-eight minutes into the game, Nigeria’s Chukwuma Akabueze made it 3-1 to secure his side’s advancement to the next round of the Turkish Cup. Then to add salt to injury, Kadem Yaşar scored an own goal in the dying minutes of the game.

Kasimpasa, who sit 11th on the league table, will next face 17th-place Gençlerbirliği on Saturday.
