Mohamed Elneny played full 90 minutes as Arsenal lost in the Europa league for the first time this season to FC Köln away from home.

The first half was short on chances and both goalkeepers were unchallenged, except for Coquelin’s shot that hit the woodwork from the edge of the box in the 30th minute of the game.

An hour into the game, Mathieu Debuchy tackled Guirassy inside the box and the German side was awarded a penalty. Guirassy himself took the penalty and converted to give FC Köln the lead.

Arsenal didn’t threaten the opposing goalkeeper until the 88th minute. Reiss Nelson made a beautiful run between three defenders but Timo Horn denied his effort. Afterwards, Jack Wilshere collected the rebound and squared it to Nketiah but the latter failed to score from close-range.

The Gunners remain on top of Group H with 10 points followed by Red Star Belgrade with six points, FC Köln in third place with six points. FC BATE Borisov come in fourth place with five points.

Arsenal are scheduled to face FC BATE Borisov on December 7 in the final match-day of the Europa League group stage at the Emirates Stadium.
