His only game in charge of Al Wehda saw them lose to 3-0 to Al Faisaly, which made Mido announce that the Al Ahli Jeddah game will be his last as the club’s interim coach.

“I accepted the offer of taking charge of the temporary management of the team, despite the difficulties, because of my respect for the people of Mecca and for Turki Al-Sheikh.

“I was on a specific mission to prepare the team technically, physically, and mentally as best as possible for the next team manager, and then return to my basic task agreed upon with Turki Al-Sheikh and the club’s board, which is to develop the football sector in the first team and other group ages through my position as technical advisor of the club.

I declare that the upcoming Al Ahli game will be my last with the team as an interim coach, whatever the outcome, we promise the fans that the team will perform differently after everyone in the club agreed to fight in order to end the losing run and return the team to its natural place,” Mido added.

Al Wehda currently stand sixth on the league table after 14 fixtures and the team has a much tougher task as they will host Saudi giants Al Ahli Jeddah on Friday.
