Hussien El-Shahat has scored the third for Al Ain in Al Wasl’s 3-1 clash in the 12th round of the UAE Arab Gulf League.
The Egypt International has now a total of six goals and four assists for Al Ain in the UAE Gulf League this season
The opener came in from Swedish forward Marcus Berg as he intercepted Tsukasa Shiotani’s shot and perfectly capitalized to put his name on the scoresheet in the 19th minute of the game
The score remained 1-0 to the visitors until the end of the first-half, as after only three minutes after the restart, Caio Fernandes brilliantly reacted to Mohamed Abdulrahman’s smart move as he fed the Brazilian inside the box where he directly slotted to the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0
in the 56th minute, A defender’s blunder paid Al Ain a non-useful goal as Ismail Ahmed was confused between the crowd and sent the ball in his own net instead of sending it off the field.
As the clock stroke 90 minutes, El-Shahat managed to put the game to bed for Al Ain, scoring a low drive that resorted in the bottom far corner of Al Wasl’s goal.
Following the victory, Al Ain still stand on the top the table sharing same points with Sharjah SC and leading with goal differences.
El-Shahat’s side are set to meet up with the same contender next Friday, December 7 in Round of 16 of the President’s Cup
