Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah expressed his support for the club’s goalkeeper Loris Karius amid heavy criticism.
Salah took to Twitter after his team-mate faced heavy criticism after another unsatisfying performance on the club’s preseason USA tour against Borussia Dortmund.
“Stay strong Karius, it has happened to the best of players. Ignore those who hate”, tweeted Salah.
The Reds lost the match against German club Borussia Dortmund 3-1. The third goal came after a poor save from Karius on Christian Pulisic’s shot to basically assist Bruun Larsen who slotted the third goal . The past few months have been difficult for Karius, who was also blamed for the club’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev after committing two fatal mistakes that resulted in two goals for Los Merengues.
Liverpool have recently signed Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma, who became the world’s most expensive goalie at £65m last week. This new signing has made Karius’s future at the club seem uncertain.
