Former Zamalek right-back Hamdi Nagguez has officially joined Esperance de Tunis on a three-year contract, following reports that he had agreed personal terms.

The Tunisia international has been without a club since the termination of his Zamalek contract back in December due to the failure to pay his wages.

Following initial reports that Nagguez had agreed personal terms with the CAF Champions League holders, the move has now been made official.

The 27-year-old made 63 official appearances during his time with the Cairo giants and provided nine assists along the way. He also helped Zamalek win two Egypt Cups, the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup, and the Egyptian-Saudi Super Cup.

Leading up to the suspension of football due to COVID-19, Esperance were top of the Tunisian Ligue 1 and 10 points clear of second-place Sfaxien, however, they had already been eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Nagguez’s former club Zamalek.
