The 31-year-old scored Egypt’s second goal of the night after receiving a low cross inside the box, before finishing brilliantly in the bottom right corner of Uganda’s goalkeeper.

This is Elmohamady’s second goal of the tournament after scoring in the second match against DR Congo and equalling his tally with his teammate Mohamed Salah.

Egypt secured Group A’s top spot with the full mark from three games. Their upcoming match will be in the round of 16 as they are set to face third place teams from either Group C, D or E.
