Al Ahly manager Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Shafy ‘Zizo’ has commented on the possibility of seeing the Hassan twins, Hossam and Ibrahim, in a managing capacity at the Cairo giants in the future.

Speaking to Dream TV Zizo mentioned, “It is possible that this could happen. Hossam Hassan and his twin, Ibrahim, have a great history at Al Ahly.”

“I have supported the twins since they were in the youth setup at Al Ahly. There is a strong possibility that they could come back and manage the club,” Zizo was interim manager at the Cairo giants up until this week, when Al Ahly announced the signing of former Tottenham coach Martin Jol to take over.

The twins, who infamously swapped the Red of Al Ahly by switching to the White of Zamalek in the early 2000’s are currently involved with Alexandrian based Al Masry, with Hossam currently managing the coastal side.

Al Ahly and Masry clashed only a few days ago, a match which sparked emotions from both sides following the 2011 Port Said massacre. The match ended in a draw, with Al Ahly coming from behind late in the second half to secure a 2-2 draw courtesy of a Malick Evouna equaliser.

Al Ahly are currently occupying top spot on the ladder, holding a three points lead over second placed arch rivals Zamalek. Al Masry have also been in terrific form recently, currently occupying fourth spot, eight points behind Al Ahly and only separated from third spot by goal difference.
