Egypt international Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick against Bournemouth to hand Liverpool a valuable 4-0 win away from home.

In the first half, Liverpool started off a bit sloppy but were threatening Bournemouth. In the 23rd minute, Brooks almost scored for Bournemouth but Alisson kept it out.

Just two minutes later, Salah scored the first goal from a rebound after a long shot by Firmino was parried out by Begovic in Salah’s path. Despite seemingly being in an offside position, the goal stood for the Reds.

In the 34th minute, Ake almost equalized for the hosts but he couldn’t get his shot his way.

In the second half, Salah doubled the lead from a Firmino assist after a fantastic individual run ended by him slotting the ball past Begovic. In the 52nd minute, King almost halved the deficit but he couldn’t connect with Daniels’ cross.

In the 67th minute, Steve Cook converted the ball into his own net from a Robertson cross. Ten minutes later, Salah scored a fantastic solo goal for Liverpool to complete his hat-trick after rounding off the keeper twice before calmly placing the ball into the bottom left corner.

Liverpool climb top of the league by a point more than Manchester City, until the Citizens take on Chelsea in a few hours. A win or a draw would send Pep Guardiola’s men top of the league after 16 matches.

Liverpool’s next game will be against Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday in which they need to win by a two-goal margin to qualify.
