Liverpool suffered a surprise 2-0 loss to FK Red Star Belgrade away from home as Egypt international Mohamed Salah played the full 90 minutes.

At the beginning of the first half, Liverpool looked very shaky and couldn’t play their normal football. They conceded just 22 minutes after the start through Pavkov, who converted Marko Marin’s cross.

Just seven minutes later Pavkov doubled his side’s lead with a great long shot which caught Alisson off guard. The hosts defended their lead very well as they contained Liverpool’s attack for the rest of the first-half.

In the second half, Klopp made two substitutes as he brought on Firmino and Gomez to replace Sturridge and Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool almost got one back through Mane but his shot was cleared.

In the 56th minute, Robertson’s cross got deflected onto the crossbar as Liverpool continued threatening the hosts, before Mohamed Salah had his shot hit the woodwork.

Towards the end of the half, Salah failed to convert a great chance to half the deficit, to end the game in a surprising 2-0 victory for Red Star.

Liverpool’s next match will be against Fulham on November 11 in the Premier League, then Mohamed Salah will join the national team for the match against Tunisia in Alexandria.
