Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been nominated alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for best 2017/18 Champions League forward.
After a record breaking season, Salah has found himself in contention for and winner of multiple awards. Most recently, the Egyptian has been nominated for the best forward in the 2017/18 Champions League award alongside Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and former Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Salah took the Premier League and Champions League by storm on his return to England last season. In 13 games for the Reds in the Champions League, the former Roma forward scored 10 goals and made four assists to lead Liverpool to the Champions League final.
Argentina’s Lionel Messi made just eight appearances for Barcelona in the Champions League due to the team’s shock exit at the hands of Roma. The 31-year-old forward scored six goals and made two assists in those games.
Juventus’ new star forward Cristiano Ronaldo played in 13 games in the Champions League for Real Madrid last season. The Portuguese captain scored 15 goals and provided three assists in Real Madrid’s road to their historic 13th title.
Elsewhere, new Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker has been nominated for best goalkeeper in the 2017/18 Champions League alongside former Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon and Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas. The winners of the awards will be announced on August 30.
Before then, Salah and Co. will begin their Premier League campaign on August 12 against West Ham before facing Crystal Palace on August 20.
