CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe clinched the 2016 CAF Super Cup title with a win over Confederation Cup champions Etoile Sportive du Sahel on Saturday.
The Congolese side secured a 2-1 win against their Tunisian contenders, with all three goals coming in the first half.
The match took place at the home ground of TP Mazembe, Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi.

The first half went well for TP Mazembe with Ghanaian striker Daniel Nii Adjei scoring a brace for his side. He opened the scoring with a header in the 19th minute, before doubling his team’s lead from a sidekick on the 45th minute mark.
In the dying minutes of the first half, Iheb Msakni pulled a goal back for the Tunisian side, to keep the hopes of Etoile du Sahel alive.
The second half was much less eventful as both teams failed to take full of control the game. The visitors had several dangerous chances towards the end of the game; however, they failed to convert them into goals.
As the Tunisians failed to complete the comeback, TP Mazembe were crowned champions of the 2016 CAF Super Cup for the third time, after clinching the title in 2010 and 2011.
TP Mazembe clinched their fifth CAF Champions League title after beating USM Alger on a 4-1 aggregate scoreline, while Étoile du Sahel defeated Orlando Pirates 2-1 on aggregate to win the CAF Confederation Cup.
Algerian side ES Sétif were the winners of the CAF Super Cup previous version when they beat Cairo giants Al Ahly in a penalty shoot-out, after playing out 1-1 draw.
