OFFICIAL: Egypt-eligible Haissem Hassan joins CD Mirandés on loan

French-Egyptian starlet Haissem Hassan has officially completed a season-long loan move to LaLiga2 outfit CD Mirandés coming from Villareal.

Hassan came through the ranks of Paris FC and LB Châteauroux youth ranks, before impressing and getting promoted to the first team at just the age of 17.

After just 19 appearances with Châteauroux, Hassan earned a big move to LaLiga giants Villareal last October for a reported fee of €2m

Putting pen-to-paper on a four-year deal, Hassan was limited to playing time with the B team in the third tier, scoring twice in 24 games to help them qualify for the promotion groups.

However, the Yellow Submarine finished bottom of their promotion group, finishing behind the likes of Ibiza and Barcelona B.

Luckily for Hassan, he will have a chance to play in a higher tier this season after attracting the attention of LaLiga 2 club CD Mirandés, who will hope to earn a promotion to the top tier for the first time in the club’s history.

The Miranda de Ebro-based club announced the loan deal while describing Hassan as ‘Powerful on the run and skilled with the ball’.

The 19-year-old will play alongside the likes of Liverpool loanee Anderson Arroyo, Juventus loanee Riccardo Capellini, and under head coach Lolo Escobar.

Hassan has represented France’s U-17 and U-18 sides and even made their 2019 U-17 World Cup squad, but is eligible to represent both Egypt and Tunisia.
