Spanish giants Villarreal are reportedly leading the race to sign French-Egyptian talent Haissem Hassan from LB Chateroux.
Hassan currently plies his trade in Ligue 2 with LB Chateroux after making his debut with the first team last season.
The 18-year-old made 13 appearances for Charteroux last season and provided one assist, helping his side sit 15th in the Ligue 2 table with 34 points.
According to a report by L’Equipe, Villarreal have launched a second bid of €2m to sign Hassan in the current transfer window.
The youngster has also received offers from Ligue 1 outfit Lille (€1.2m), EFL Championship’s Brentford (€1.2m plus €300,000 in bonuses), and Serie A side Fiorentina (€900,000).
However, Villarreal remain in pole position to sign Hassan after making previous attempts to sign him three months ago.
Hassan has represented France’s U-17 and U-18 sides and even made their 2019 U-17 World Cup squad.
