Jaziri called up to Tunisia squad in place of Ben Ouanes

Tunisia coach Jalel Kadri called up Zamalek forward Seifeddine Jaziri in place of Kasimpasa man Mortadha Ben Ouanes, who will remain in Turkey to join his ill daughter.

In a statement released by Ben Ouanes, the former ES Sahel player revealed that his two-year-old daughter had an ear infection, which then spread to the neurons, causing brain inflammation and meningitis.

“With deep regret, I will not be able to join my teammates to be with my wife in this tragedy,” his statement read. “I have informed the national coach Jalel Kadri of my situation, and I hope that the fans pray for to Almighty God for the success of the team in the AFCON and the recovery of my daughter.”

Jaziri is set to feature in his second Africa Cup of Nations, following his appearance in 2021, which saw him grab a goal in the 4-0 win against Mauritania.
