Nice sign Canadian defender ahead of Abdelmonem's arrival

OGC Nice have reached a deal with MLS club Colorado Rapids for the transfer of Canadian defender Moïse Bombito.

The 24-year-old central defender has agreed a four-year deal with the French club until 2028 in a deal that will cost around €7 million.

Bombito was part of the Canada squad in the last Copa America, where they reached the semi-finals, before getting eliminated by eventual champions Argentina.

The news comes as Nice is set to sign another defender in Egypt’s Mohamed Abdelmonem, who will now have a more stiff competition in France.

According to reports, Mohamed Abdelmonem is expected to have his first Nice training session on Wednesday or Thursday after the club reached an agreement with Al Ahly.

Nice started the season slowly with a 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Auxerre and will be hoping that both their new defender help them turn the tide quickly in their next game against Toulouse.
