Al Kholood in talks to sign Moussa Marega – Report

Al Kholood have reportedly started negotiations with Malian striker Moussa Marega to sign him as a free agent.

Marega played in the Saudi Pro League before as the forward represented Al Hilal between 2021 and 2023, where he featured in 75 games, scoring 25 goals and assisting seven.

The 33-year-old was part of the Al Hilal side that won four trophies in 2022. His contributions helped the Saudi giants win the Saudi Pro League, the AFC Champions League, the Saudi Cup and the Saudi Super Cup before he left to join Emirati club Sharjah FC last year.

Having been promoted to the Saudi Pro League this season, Al Kholood will try to stay in the top flight and are reportedly hoping to sign Marega because of his experience and goal-scoring ability to help bolster their attack.

Coached by Portuguese boss Paolo Duarte, Al Kholood already made a number of signings including Mohammed Jahfali, Abdullah Al-Rashidi, Hamdan Al-Shammrani, Nawaf Al-Shuweir, and Ittihad’s goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe.

Club president Mohamed Al Khalifa also said that his club wishes to sign Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Mahmoud Kahraba.

He added that negotiations are ongoing with Al Ahly to sign Aliou Dieng. They are also interested in former West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi.
