Mohamed Sherif included in Al-Khaleej camp amid transfer speculation

Mohamed Sherif will be flying to Slovenia soon to join Al-Khaleej’s training camp after visa issues delayed his departure.

The delay in the player joining his club training camp has nothing to do with the rumors that he is set to leave the club. The 28-year-old Egyptian striker joined Al-Khaleej from Al Ahly last season.

In his only season in Saudi Arabia, Sherif scored six goals and assisted two in 32 games with Al-Khaleej, helping the club avoid the drop.

Several reports have emerged recently stating that the club is looking to offload the player this summer, with former club Al Ahly opening communications with the player to gauge his interest in a return to Cairo.

Al Ahly are on the look for a new striker after Antony Modeste’s departure and Kahraba’s imminent move to Saudi Arabia. It is been reported that Sherif’s desire is terminate his contract with Al-Khaleej by mutual consent.

However, according to Saudi media, Al-Khaleej’s management did not inform the player of anything related to his future and hence his presence in the training camp.

Al-Khaleej are having their preseason camp in Slovenia as they look to build on their 11th-place finish in the Saudi Pro League last term.
