Zamalek offered ex-Al Ahly forward Aliou Badji, club official confirms

Zamalek board member Ahmed Soliman confirmed they were offered the chance to sign former Al Ahly forward Aliou Badji.

With their registration ban reportedly getting lifted soon, reports of potential January signings emerged as they try to reinforce their squad after a disastrous start to the league campaign.

The White Knights are currently 12th in the Egyptian Premier League table with just 11 points after eight games played so far.

Speaking on their transfer targets, Soliman revealed they could acquire a former rival in Senegalese striker Aliou Badji.

The 26-year-old joined Al Ahly in 2020 but failed to live up to the expectations in Cairo as he now plies his trade for Bordeaux in Ligue 2 four years later.

“Aliou Badji is a proposed option to us,” Soliman told MBC Masr. “He is currently ripping it up in France, and we are considering bringing him back to Egypt.”
