OFFICIAL: Pyramids FC sign Morocco international Mohamed Chibi

Pyramids FC have announced the signing of Morocco and FAR Rabat right-back Mohamed Chibi ahead of the new season.

The Cairo-based side have had a relatively successful Egyptian Premier League campaign, having managed to finish in second place for the first time in history.

As a result, they also condemned Al Ahly to finish outside the top two for the first time since the 1991/92 season.

The club started its summer business by extending the contracts of head coach Takis Gonias and several key players, including talented forward Ibrahim Adel.

Moreover, the club also sealed its first summer signing after agreeing a two-year deal with Egypt left-back Karim Hafez on a free transfer.

Pyramids FC have then turned their attention to the right-back position as they acquired the services of Morocco international Mohamed Chibi from FAR Rabat for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old had been plying his trade in Rabat since August 2021, joining for free from Ittihad Tanger. He also had spells with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, having come from their youth ranks back in 2013.

Last season, Chibi played 29 games across all competitions, scoring once while assisting five, helping FAR Rabat to finish third in the league table.

The move comes on the back of Pyramids’ interest in getting rid of veteran Ahmed Fathi and Omar Gaber’s rumoured return to Zamalek.
