‘Gamal Allam is a liar!’ – Mido blasts Egypt FA president

Mido

Former Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Ahmed Hossam Mido has slammed Egyptian Football Association (EFA) president Gamal Allam.

The EFA recently appointed ex-Arab Contractors player Nabil Alaa as their technical director, a decision that wasn’t well-received by Mido.

The 40-year-old claimed that Alaa does not meet the requirements for the role and called for Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi to take action.

“Appointing Alaa Nabil as technical director of the EFA violates the laws of FIFA,” Mido wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The man does not have the qualifications required for this position. This is a scandal for the EFA. I ask Sports Minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhi to intervene immediately.”

Gamal Allam later responded to Mido’s claim and revealed that Alaa has the needed ‘certifications’ to perform his duties as technical director.

However, Mido quickly reacted to Allam’s comments and accused him of lying to the public about Alaa’s coaching license.

“Unfortunately, Gamal Allam is a liar!” Mido said. “It is shameful for someone his age to be a liar and ignorant of the laws.

“He says that Alaa Nabil has the necessary certificates to occupy the position of technical director of the EFA. Why can’t he show us these certificates then?

“FIFA’s rules state that the technical director of any federation must have a pro license. If the EFA publish his certificate on their official website, I will personally go to their headquarters and apologise to Nabil in front of everyone,” he added.
