Egypt international Mohamed Shokry tears ACL

Egypt international and Al Ahly-bound Mohamed Shokry has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, the club has announced.

The 24-year-old left-back started against Al Masry on Sunday before being forced off the pitch after just 11 minutes as he was seen holding his knee.

After undergoing several scans, it has been revealed that Shokry is set for a spell on the sidelines after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

With one cap to his name, it has been announced that Shokry is set to return to his boyhood club Al Ahly at the end of the season after the Reds triggered the buyback option.

This season Shokry has made 21 appearances for Cleopatra FC, scoring twice and providing three assists, and made his international debut in the previous international break against New Zealand.
