Russia’s FC Sochi in talks with ENPPI over Mohamed Hamdi

Mohamed Hamdi

ENPPI football director Mohamed Ismail revealed they are in talks with Russian outfit FC Sochi to sign Mohamed Hamdi in the coming days.

Local reports revealed that FC Sochi made an offer to sign Mohamed Hamdi on loan from ENPPI for €100,000 until the end of the season with a purchase option for €1.4 million.

ENPPI, for its part, offered the Russian club to loan the player for free, but with the condition of guaranteeing the player’s participation in at least 40% of the remaining matches with a minimum of 25 minutes per match.

Mohamed Ismail stated: “There is a Russian offer from Sochi for Mohamed Hamdi through a marketing company. Negotiations are ongoing, and they want to sign the player in the coming days.”

Hamdi is considered part of the current Egyptian Olympic team, which is preparing to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

ENPPI offered to loan the player for free because the club’s management sees that it is in the player’s interest to play without any pressure, especially since the season in Russia will end in three months and he won’t feature regularly.

The Petroleum club requested 25% of the future sale value of the player, his loan, or even his participation in any international tournament with the Egyptian national team.

Mohamed Hamdi played 14 matches with ENPPI in the current season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. FC Sochi is currently at the bottom of the Russian Premier League table with 11 points from 18 matches.
