Rulani Mokwena: Percy Tau is one of South Africa’s best exports

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena described Percy Tau as one of South Africa’s best exports ahead of facing Al Ahly in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League.

The Brazilians will host Al Ahly in an anticipating encounter as the Red Devils are looking to beat their South African counterparts after 4 successive winless games against us.

When asked if he has any plans to keep Percy Tau quiet, Mokwena revealed that it would be a challenging task due to his ability to play in a variety of positions.

“Percy Tau is playing completely different in the last 3 games, compared to how he played against us. In Cairo, he played in three different positions in the 90 minutes,” Mokwena told the media.

In the past three matches between the two sides, Tau failed to find the back of the net against his former side, however, Mokwena had high praise for the 28-year-old.

“He’s a very good player, one of our best exports and I don’t speak too much about him because he is not a Mamelodi Sundowns player,”

“I’ve got to have a lot of respect for how I speak about players that are not mine, and of course I am a little biased in my opinion of Percy so I try not to say too much,”

A win will see Mamelodi Sundowns seal their spot in the quarter-finals, while Al Ahly’s victory will see them go level on points with Sundowns on seven points.
