Sochi: Yahia Attiyat Allah keen on Al Ahly move

Al Ahly are reportedly trying to sign Moroccan’s left-back Yahia Attiyat Allah from Russian club Sochi FC following Ali Maaloul’s long-term injury.

Maaloul picked up an injury during the CAF Champions League final in May, forcing head coach Marcel Koller to rely on right-back Karim Fouad on the left-hand side.

This has enticed Al Ahly to look abroad to solve their problems in defence and it seems they have identified Yahia Attiyat Allah to add depth to the fullback position.

In an interview with Egyptian media, Sochi sporting director Andrey Orlov said that Attiyat Allah wants to join Al Ahly but revealed that they have not received an offer from the Cairo giants yet.

The 29-year-old had joined Sochi from Wydad Casablanca in February this year, where he featured in 11 games for the Russian club scoring one goal and assisting three.

Additionally, the defender was also part of the Morocco squad which made history by finishing fourth in the 2022 World Cup.
