Report: Al Ahly’s Mohamed Dhaoui set for CS Sfaxien move

Mohamed Dhaoui ‘Cristo’ is reportedly set to join CS Sfaxien from Al Ahly on loan with an option to buy after failing to establish himself in Cairo.

Cristo had joined Al Ahly two seasons ago from Etoile Sportive du Sahel but struggled for game time with the first team.

The 21-year-old was initially signed as a prospect but an abundance of established wingers at Al Ahly contributed to a limited number of appearances.

With only 10 games under his belt, the Red Devils have reportedly decided to send him on loan to CS Sfaxien with the Tunisian club covering the player’s full salary.

Reports added that Cristo’s desire to return to his home country was a factor in this transfer with Raja Casablanca also wanting to sign the player.

CS Sfaxien finished third in the Tunisian league last season and will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next year.

As for Al Ahly, a potential departure opens a spot in their quota for foreign players as the African champions plan to bring in more experienced players for the new campaign.
