Speaking to Egyptian Channel 1, Fae said: “Egyptian football is very exciting and enticing for many coaches to work in, and sometimes I follow Egyptian clubs in continental tournaments and have seen what Al Ahly has achieved in recent years.
“For me, I want to take things step by step. I am the coach of the Ivory Coast national team, and I want to celebrate winning the AFCON. We have a tough task ahead in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and we are keeping our eyes on Morocco’s achievement in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
“Before the start of this edition, I anticipated facing Egypt in the AFCON. If you want to win the tournament, you must achieve victory against everyone. Unfortunately, we did not face Egypt due to the Democratic Republic of Congo’s victory.
“Didier Drogba was as excited as the entire Ivorian people. He spoke to us about the necessity of winning the Africa Cup of Nations title. I thank him for his support and assistance in overcoming the challenging stage. His role was crucial for me and the players.
“Haller wasn’t 100% ready for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament and was struggling with an injury, but through hard work and dedication, he managed to help the team. Recently, I renewed my contract with the Ivorian Football Federation to continue with the national team in the upcoming period.”
