Saudi club Al-Kholood to hijack Ahmed Hegazi’s move

Saudi club Al-Kholood to hijack Ahmed Hegazi's move

Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi is said to be keen on joining Saudi club Al-Kholood over NEOM SC as he is nearing Ittihad Jeddah exit.

Having joined Ittihad Jeddah in October 2020 from West Brom, it has been revealed that the Tigers are keen on offloading Hegazi this summer after struggling with injuries last season.

With his contract still running until June 2026, Hegazi was linked with a return to African champions Al Ahly, which he even publicly revealed to be his desire, but it looks like he will remain in Saudi Arabia.

Second-tier side NEOM SC were believed to be the frontrunner to snap up the player; however, a report from Al-Yaum revealed that Al-Kholood entered the race and are set to seal Hegazi’s signing.

The report revealed that Hegazi’s desire is Al-Kholood and he prefers a move to them over NEOM SC.

Coached by Portuguese boss Paolo Duarte, Al Kholood have already made several signings this summer, led by Ittihad’s goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe, Saudi center-back Mohammed Jahfali, and Al Adalah right-back Abdullah Al-Rashidi.

The club is also on the verge of signing Al Ahly’s Aliou Dieng and is in talks with Mahmoud Kahraba over a potential summer signing.

Having been promoted to the Saudi Pro League this season, Al-Kholood’s main goal will be to avoid a quick relegation back to the second-tier and Hegaiz’s experience will surely help them in their quest.
