Ittihad Jeddah closing in on Aston Villa star Moussa Diaby

Ittihad Jeddah are closing in on a deal to sign French winger Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa after completing the Houssem Aouar deal.

The news was confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who revealed that Ittihad are now confident to reach an agreement with Aston Villa.

It’s believed that the Saudi giants have opened negotiations with Aston Villa by submitting an initial proposal above €50m with add-ons, which was turned down by the Premier League club.

However, it looks like the Tigers are willing to do whatever it takes to sign Diaby and negotiations are now advancing between all parties to seal a deal for the 25-year-old winger.

The club has already completed the signing of AS Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar are now pushing for Diaby, who has 11 French caps to his name.

If the deal is completed, Diaby will become the fourth French player in the Ittihad squad alongside Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and the recent signing Aouar.

Diaby joined Aston Villa last season from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee in excess of €50m, helping the club qualify for the UEFA Champions League by scoring six goals and assisting eight in 38 Premier League games.

He originally came through the youth ranks of PSG, before joining Leverkusen in July 2019.
