Mohamed Salah’s FIFA Best Men’s Player ranking revealed

FIFA revealed FIFA Best Men’s Player voting results as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has finished 14th after claiming two scoring points.

Paris Saint Germain’s Lionel Messi claimed his second The Best FIFA Men’s Player award after guiding Argentina to their FIFA World Cup title in Qatar last December.

FIFA have revealed the voting results in full following the end of the ceremony that took place in Paris as Mohamed Salah came in the fourteenth place.

Despite losing the English Premier League title on the final matchday, the Egyptian had an outstanding individual 2021/22 season with Liverpool as he claimed the Premier League Golden Boot with 26 goals, and Playmaker of the season with 13 assists.

Moreover, Salah was also named PFA Players’ Player of the Year, FWA Football of the Year and PFA Fans’ Player of the Year.

However, the Egyptian and the whole Liverpool squad, have been struggling since the start of the season, with the 30-year-old scoring just eight goals in the English Premier League so far.

This is the first time since 2017 that Salah finishes outside the top six in the FIFA Best Men’s Player rankings.

Meanwhile, Salah’s former teammate Sadio Mane finished in sixth as the highest ranked African player, while Paris Saint Germain’s right-back Achraf Hakimi finished in eighth as Africa’s second highest ranked player.
