OFFICIAL: Saudi Arabia to host 2023 FIFA Club World Cup

The Saudi Football Federation announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the upcoming 20th edition FIFA Club World Cup in 2023.

Saudi Arabia is hosting the tournament for the first time, becoming the fifth different country to host the FIFA Club World Cup after Japan, UAE, Morocco, and Qatar.

The competition will take place between 1-12 December 2023 and will include the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League champions, as well as, the winners of the six continental confederations.

Moreover, FIFA also revealed the team allocations for the new planned 32-team FIFA Club World Cup taking place in 2025, with Africa being awarded four places in the new system.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid were crowned champions of the 19th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup for a record fifth time after beating Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal 5-3 in the final.

Al Ahly, who took Morocco’s spot, managed to reach the semi-finals for the third successive time, however, they lost the third-place playoff against Flamengo 4-2.
