Mohamed Hany: It is not the result we want, but it is time to focus on the next game

Al Ahly’s right back Mohamed Hany expressed his disappointment from the defeat against Real Madrid, stressing on the importance of achieving the bronze medal.

Al Ahly missed the chance to reach their first-ever FIFA Club World Cup final following a heavy 4-1 defeat against Real Madrid in the sem-final.

Despite a strong start in the first half in which Al Ahly created a couple of chances to break the deadlock, Real Madrid managed to take the lead through Vinicius Junior three minutes before half-time.

Al Ahly found themselves two goals behind just after the restart as Federico Valverde added Real Madrid’s second of the night.

Ali Ma’aloul pulled one back for the Red Devils from the spot, however, late goals from Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas secured Real Madrid’s place in the final.

“The result is not the best. We were hoping to beat Real Madrid and reach our first-ever final in the FIFA Club World Cup,” Hany spoke after the game.

“Everyone did their best tonight. We fought till the end, but unfortunately, the result was not what we were hoping for,”

“We have to close Real Madrid’s page and start focusing on the next game in order to win the bronze medal as we did in the last two editions,”

The Red Devils seek to replicate their success in their last two participations in the FIFA Club World Cup as they face Brazil’s Flamengo on Saturday for the bronze medal.
