Football agent, Walid EL-Morshedy, revealed that he has offered Iraqi midfielder Saad Natiq to Egyptian and African powerhouse Al Ahly.
Natiq is a 32-year-old veteran defender who spent the majority of his career in Iraq with Al-Najaf, Masafi Al-Wasat, Al-Quwa Al-Jawuyia and finally Iraqi giants Al-Shorta.
He also had a brief one-year stint in the Qatar Stars League with Al-Arabi SC.
Throughout his career, Natiq won the AFC Cup twice, the Iraqi League, the Iraqi FA Cup and the Iraqi Super League.
He also represented Iraq on all youth levels and has 32 caps with the senior team, representing them in various international competitions.
Natiq could be a great addition to the Al Ahly defence, as Moroccan centre back Badr Benoun continues to be out with Covid-19 complications.
El-Morshedy revealed that he approached the Red Devils for a possible move, but nothing concrete has yet to come out of the negotiations.
“I offered the player to Amir Tawfik, the director of contracts at Al Ahly, and they’re still studying it,” El-Morhsedy told ONTime Sport 2 TV.
“Saad still has contract with Iraqi side Al-Shorta, and there is a clause in his contract that allows him to move on a free transfer outside of Iraq.
“There are other clubs in Egypt that want to sign Saad Natiq, but he wants to play in one of the top clubs.
“I offered Saad only to Al Ahly, and I did not get their final stance on the situation, but I’m optimistic and the player is open to playing with the Reds.
“The player is now in the Iraqi national team camp and played a friendly match against Zambia a few days ago,” he concluded.
