Salah’s Liverpool discover UEFA Champions League quarterfinals opponents

Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool will be clashing with Primeira Liga giants S.L. Benfica in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

The draw event for the quarterfinals of the Champions League was held today in Nyon, Switzerland.

Each team discovered their opponents as they set to battle their ways to the final taking place in Stade de France next May.

In their journey to the top eight, Liverpool successfully overcame Serie A champions Inter Milan, beating them 2-1 on aggregate.

Benfica on the other hand have earned their quarterfinals spot by snatching a valuable 1-0 away victory over opponents Ajax after falling to a 2-2 draw at home.

With Benfica drawn at home for the first leg on April 5, Liverpool will therefore have the Anfield advantage for a decisive second leg on April 13.

Should Liverpool come out on top in their confrontation with Benfica, they will be facing the winner between Villarreal and Bayern Munich in the semifinals.
