Agent provides update on Ferjani Sassi future with Zamalek

Mohnnand Aoun, Ferjani Sassi’s agent, has revealed that the Tunisian international is expected to renew his contract with Zamalek in the coming two weeks.

Sassi has established himself as a fan favourite among the Zamalek fans since arriving at the club in the summer of 2018 from Saudi side Al Nassr.

The 28-year-old Tunisian international scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 75 games for the Whites, helping them win the CAF Confederation Cup, the Egypt Cup, the CAF Super Cup, and the Egyptian Super Cup.

And according to his agent, Sassi wants to continue his journey in Egypt with Zamalek amid rumours of him departing to the Gulf area.

“Sassi made it clear that he wants to continue playing for Zamalek with all the love and loyalty he can offer. He is very happy to be here and has a brilliant relationship with the fans and the board,” said Aoun on Zamalek TV.

“The board is busy with other major decisions and that is why we decided to hold the meeting in two weeks time,” he then added.

The meeting was supposed to be held a couple of days ago, however, it was delayed.

“Sassi and I sat with the respected Ayman Younes and Mohamed Attia from the Zamalek board and they went on to make their intentions clear on the future of Sassi and him staying at the club. The financials were discussed as well,” Aoun then went on to declare.

“I heard a lot of rumours on Ferjani wanting to leave the white castle, however, all of these are false, he loves the club and was really sad to lose the CAF Champions League final, as he wanted to win it for the fans and the club,” concluded Muhannad Aoun his interview.

The 28-year-old midfielder was pivotal in Zamalek’s run to reach the CAF Champions league final and Zamalek’s 2nd place finish in the Egyptian League.
