It is a transfer rumor that Liverpool cannot afford to ignore: the Egyptian Star Mohamed Salah is wanted by Real Madrid. KingFut’s Ahmed Khalil takes a look at what could possibly be next for Salah or whether a stay at Merseyside the best option for now.

With two Africa’s Player of the Year, two Golden Boots, a Club World Cup, a Champions League, and a Premier League, it is suggested that Salah could match up with the majestic club’s high standards.

The Egyptian is one of the main pillars of Liverpool’s Premier League-winning team and played a major part in their success over the past years.

Los Merengues have been linked with Salah, leading to fears that Liverpool could be in for a nervous summer transfer window.

However, Madrid President Florentino Pérez could have calmed gossip with comments he made following the La Liga giants winning the league.

COVID-19 has dropped the bottom out of the transfer market in the Premier League, but it could even affect the richest of the teams.

Former Mali international, Frederic Kanoute, said that Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are great players and discusses their possible move to La Liga.

“Mane and Salah are great players and I think if they move to Spain they could only sign for Real Madrid or Barcelona,” the 42-year-old said during a conference for La Liga legends.

But without Salah and Mane, Klopp won’t be able to continue the theme of dominance he has established over the past few years.

The prospect of such a transfer is mouthwatering to those football lovers in his homeland who have closely watched his rise.

Fady Ashraf, a football writer for Egyptian football site FilGoal, discussed the excitement it would bring to see Salah in a Madrid shirt.

“Salah is the hero of the people in Egypt,” he said. “He’s the most famous and accepted public figure in Egypt across all spectra of people.

“When he joined Liverpool from Roma, all of a sudden everybody here became a Liverpool fan. But now we hear about Madrid.

“A lot of Egyptians support Barcelona, so it’s going to be interesting to watch. But my guess is that many will switch to Madrid if Salah plays there.”

There aren’t many examples in the world of a player enticing enough to convince fans to swap Barcelona for Real Madrid. Salah has something special.

It might be far-fetched that Liverpool let go of the Egypt international who scored 75 goals in 121 appearances in the Premier League since arriving from Roma.

What do you believe? What next for Mohamed Salah?
