Mohamed Salah nominated for Premier League GOTS award

Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah’s goal against West Ham has been nominated as the Premier League’s goal of the season.

The forward has had another incredible season at Anfield, with 22 goals in the Premier League, only one shy from the league’s top scorer Harry Kane, while also managing five assists.

Those numbers and his indispensable contribution to Liverpool’s attack, helping them make a late run to a Champions League spot, has earned the 28-year-old a spot amongst the Premier League Player Of the Season nominees.

Another highlight of the 2020/21 campaign was when Salah was at the end of a brilliant counterattack at the London Stadium.

Six touches were enough to take the ball from the Reds box after a West Ham corner, to the opposite end and find the net.

Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a long ball towards Xherdan Shaqiri on the left side of the pitch, who in turn directly lobbed it towards the Egyptian to give it the final push behind the ‘keeper and the line.

The goal was Salah’s second on the night.
