Egypt international Ahmed Fetouh released on bail

Matrouh Criminal Court has decided to release Zamalek player Ahmed Fetouh on a bail of 50,000 EGP, with the case postponed until October 22.

Fetouh was referred to the Criminal Court on charges of involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs following an incident on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road where he struck a police officer with his car, resulting in the officer’s death.

At the time of the accident, Fetouh was returning to Cairo along with his teammate, Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi.

Although Sobhi was in the car, he has not been referred to the authorities since he is not the owner or driver of the vehicle.

The 26-year-old has been detained since August 12, before the Matrouh Criminal Court decided to release him on bail on Monday afternoon.

The case has been postponed until October 22nd, 2024, pending the results of a drug test taken as part of the ongoing investigation.
