Cairo giants Al Ahly have announced their 28-man squad for their new CAF Champions League campaign this season.
The Red Devils are set to begin their Champions League title defence later this month starting with a two-leg encounter against Kenya’s Gor Mahia in the competition’s second preliminary round.
The first leg is set to take place in Nairobi on September 13th before Al Ahly return to face Gor Mahia at home a week later.
Ahead of the clash, the reigning champions named their squad, which had some notable exclusions led by Tunisia’s Ali Maaloul.
The left-back suffered a long-term injury last season and will spend a lengthy period on the sidelines, leaving him out of the squad.
Meanwhile, new signings Achraf Dari, Yahia Attiyat Allah, Youssef Ayman, and Omar El-Saaiy were all included despite the latter’s arrival on deadline day.
