Mohamed Salah ended his goal drought with a match winner as Liverpool defeated Ramadan Sobhi’s Huddersfield away from home.
Mohamed Salah started the game and played the full 90 minutes, while Ramadan Sobhi wasn’t included in the match squad due to his injury.
Huddersfield entered the game looking for their first win of the season and they nearly opened the scoring after only 10 minutes.
However, it was Liverpool who opened the scoring after a fantastic build-up play from Joe Gomez and Xherdan Shaqiri, and the Swiss set up Mohamed Salah, who scored the match’s lone goal.
The hosts had a number of chances to equalise, which started with Hogg hitting the post from long-range before Philip Billing’s 38th-minute free-kick went just wide off the post.
Huddersfield thought they had equalised against Liverpool through Alex Pritchard, but the goal was ruled out for an offside.
In the second half, Liverpool tried to double their lead but Sturridge’s shot went over the bar, before Alisson was forced to save Depoitre’ header.
In the 63rd minute, Salah almost scored his second of the game, but his shot went just wide.
Steve Mounie had a huge chance to score the equaliser after a defensive error led to the ball fall to him inside the box, but his shot was well off target.
Mohamed Salah had another chance to score, however, his shot was saved by Lossl, and the Reds secured a nervy 1-0 victory.
The win made Liverpool second in the Premier League, only behind leaders Manchester City on goal difference, while Sobhi’s Huddersfield are 19th with three points from nine games.
Liverpool’s next game will be against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League, while Huddersfield will travel to face Watford on Saturday.
