Former Bayern Munich and Juventus winger Douglas Costa has reportedly received an offer to join Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis.
Costa, aged 33, is currently without a club following the termination of his contract at Fluminense last week after less than six months with the Brazilian club.
But it won’t take the three-time Bundesliga champion long to find a new club, having received three offers from Spain, the UAE, and Tunisia, with Espérance Sportive de Tunis behind the latter.
The news was confirmed by Brazilian journalist Eduardo Gabardo through Rádio Gaúcha on Saturday.
Esperance Sportive de Tunis wants to strengthen their squad before they participate in the 2025 Club World Cup and want to lift their first Champions League title since 2019, having lost the last edition’s final to Al Ahly.
Douglas Costa previously played for Bayern Munich and Juventus, winning three league titles with each club, and five Ukrainian league titles before that with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Last season, Costa made 22 appearances for Fluminense, assisting only one goal and scoring no goals, before seeing his contract coming to an end.
If Douglas Costa joins Esperance, he will be the third Brazilian in their squad after Yan Sasse and Rodrigo Rodrigues.
