Marmoush ruled out of Wolfsburg clash due to knee injury

Eintracht Frankfurt’s official website has provided an update on the condition of Egyptian winger Omar Marmoush ahead of their Wolfsburg tie.

Marmoush sustained an injury during Egypt’s clash with Cape Verde in the opening match of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, in which he scored for the Pharaohs.

In a brief statement, Frankfurt announced: “Omar Marmoush will not play against Wolfsburg as he has a partial laceration to the collateral ligament of his knee.

“A wait-and-see approach will be taken with the player.”

This clarification comes after a Frankfurt spokesperson had initially downplayed the seriousness of Marmoush’s injury, noting that further scans were needed to determine its full extent.

This injury is a setback for both Marmoush and Frankfurt, as the Egyptian winger had started the season in excellent form, contributing one goal and three assists in the first three games.

Frankfurt face Wolfsburg on Saturday in matchday three of the Bundesliga, with both teams collecting three points from their opening two league games.
