Hegazi praises ‘best team in Africa’ Al Ahly ahead of Al Ittihad clash

Egypt international and Al Ittihad defender Ahmed Hegazi praised Al Ahly following his side’s 3-0 demolition of Auckland City on Tuesday night, as Eti prepare to take on the Red Devils in the second round of the Club World Cup.

Hegazi, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear back in June, was back in action for the Jeddah giants on Tuesday, even featuring in the entire ninety minutes as his side cruised to the second round.

Speaking after the game, the former Al Ahly man labelled his former employers as the ‘best in Africa’ as saying that the match-up will be a tough game.

“There are no easy games in the tournament,” Hegazi told SSC Sports following the game. “Even the Auckland game wasn’t an easy win.

“The next match will be a very tough and important game between Al Ahly, the best team in Africa, and Al Ittihad, the best team in Asia. It’s going to be a highly anticipate Arab affair, and I hope we can win and make our fans happy.”

Al Ittihad are set to face Al Ahly in Jeddah on Friday the 15th of December at 8pm Cairo Local Time.
