2015 – The Year in Pictures

It’s been a great year on the hiking front.

Extended trips in southwest Tasmania, the Colombian Andes, New York’s Adirondacks and the Colorado Rockies. Throw in some shorter hikes in my beloved Mexico and my ‘ancestral’ home of Queensland, Australia. All in all an excellent twelve months!

Below are 25 of my favourite photos from the year past:

The “hiking” year began on somewhat of a different note; lobbying on behalf of the Continental Divide Trail in Washington DC | Pictured here with the CDTC delegation and Senator Mike Enzi.

In 2015, the Hiking Life website underwent a long overdue overhaul | Many thanks to the gentleman pictured to my left, Paul “Mags” Magnanti, who’s IT expertise and patience with my woeful lack of cyber savvy, helped to make it possible.

  1. Thanks for the kind words. The last photo of the dock is stunning. Having explored the ancestral Puebloan culture myself this year, I really appreciated the El Quemado photo. There was trade between the Puebloan and the ancestral Mexican cultures so not surprised to see some similarities at times!

  2. Hi Cam – really enjoyed this post. I’ve been wondering, what happened to the hike just north and west of Lake Chapala at the three volcanoes area (I forget the name)? I met you about a year and a half ago along Camino Real, Ajijic, and thought the trip was all set. Maybe it’s still coming?
Really like your website. Adios. Ken

    1. Hi Ken,

Thanks for the message. Funny you mention that hike. I was just thinking about it the other day. It was put on the back burner due to another commitment a while ago; hopefully 2016!

      Saludos,

      Cam

  3. Hi Cam,

Congratulations on completing another year of great hiking! As always, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your trip reports and other posts during the past year. Best wishes and good hiking in 2016.
